  • Notes
    • HJ Dunlop names Colin Dunlop's widow as 'Ula': 'Widow of Colin Dunlop - a Brother of my Father's (I believe). Ula was a friend of my mother's and stayed at Crescent Lodge several times and also as a companion to my mother during her convalescence after her operation and was very kind to her (my mother). I do not know what became of her. There was a Son who I understand went into the Church - but I do not know what became of him, or his name. I have an idea he married and had a family but out in India we did not come across them.'
Niece Cecilia L Robertson, aged 22?, born Edinburgh, living with them in 1891. The house at 26 Alva St had 14 rooms with windows, and they employed a cook (Isabella MacKinnon) and Tablemaid (May Cruikshank), who both spoke Gaelic and English. [6]
