BEDFORDSHIRE TIMES & INDEPENDENT: POTTON-WARNER A wedding was solemnized the Trinity Methodist Chapel on Saturday afternoon, of Miss Marjorie Violet Warner, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Warner, of 41 Lawrence Road, Biggleswade, and Mr. Victor Arthur Potton, only son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Potton, of Ashbury Farm, Langford. Both bride and bridegroom belong to well-known and much respected families, and each have been prominent in the Trinity Methodist choir and Wesley Guild, and workers in the Methodist Sunday School of Biggleswade and Langford. The chapel was decorated and the service was choral. Mr. E. Shepherd was at the organ. The chapel was well filled with guests and friends and the officiating ministers were the Rev. A. F. Wolton and the Rev. W. A. Underwood, the Circuit ministers. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a gown of heavy white crepe, with veil of tulle, embroidered with true lovers' knots in pink silk, held in place by doubleere decorated with pink and white flowers. Mr. and Mrs. Potton later left for their honeymoon, which is being spent at Bournemouth, the bride's travelling attire being a duck-egg blue figured crepe ie-chine dress, with fur trimmed coat to match, and hat of same shade with fawn hose and shoes. Among the ninety nresents were a canteen of cutlery from officers and teachers of the Trinity Methodist Sunday School (where the bride has been organist for nine years), an oak table from Langford Methodist Church choir, and a tea service and fruit set from Langford Sunday School, where the bridegroom is the secretary. Mr, and Mrs. Victor Potton will reside at Langford. |
