- Empingham. An interesting wedding took place at the parish church on Tuesday, the Rev. T. W. The bride, who was given away her brother, was neatly attired in a blue eolienne dress, with hat to match, and carried a bouquet of white flowers. The bridesmaids were Miss Amelia Elizabeth Culpin (sister of the bride) and Miss Edith Pykett (of Bedwell, near Clipsham), prettily attired in cream dresses trimmed with blue silk. Mr. Robert Edward Corby was best man. The bride and bridegroom received many valuable and useful presents, and have the best wishes of the inhabitants for their future happiness and prosperity. A reception was afterwards held in the Audit Hall, about 60 guests being present, and dancing was greatly enjoyed until the early hours of Wednesday morning. [2]
